 PARKING & ACCESS

Our installers will need parking available close to or on-site for a large van (Remember, Countertops, Panels, and Units are heavy and for safety, we try to minimize the distance our installers have to carry materials to the job site. Please ensure this is available along with any permits required. Please ensure there is safe & clear access to the property i.e., no skips or scaffolding in the way. If clear and safe access is not available our installers can decide it is unsafe to proceed. Other trades that are working in the path to the job site i.e. driveway, hallway etc.… will need to vacate the area while installation is taking place. Our installers will need space in the front of the house for a skip bag or skip if needed. For apartments, we will remove the waste. The installers will need clear access to the Kitchen via the hallway or side entrance, please ensure side tables, wheelie bins etc are cleared for easy and safe access.

 • WORKING AREA & PREPARATION OF THE INSTALLATION

The area in which the installation is to take place should be free of all obstructions such as uninstalled appliances, tools, general clutter etc… The working area must be cleared of any obstructions such as furniture, wall-hung pictures/clocks plug-in appliances (kettles, toasters, microwaves) or dust sheets covering the units. The kitchen cabinets should be completely cleared of all items, as well as items that may be above the wall units, integrated fridge freezers must be cleared of all foods & items, Downlights on fly shelves above windows should be disconnected before the installation, we request that any tradesperson (painter, electrician, plumber etc…) leave the area where installation is taking place for the duration of the installation so as not to hinder or obstruct our installation team. For worktop replacements please be aware when our installers remove your existing worktops there is a very small chance of tiles coming away from the wall and breakage may occur or if worktops are being installed. if a third party resprayed the kitchen, the side panels (gables) where the worktop sits tight to the paint might chip or come away. Kitchen Fix Ltd will do its best to prevent this from happening but not be held responsible for repairing this. Our installers will need to access the mains cold water shut-off valve and hot water tank (immersion) to isolate the water for a short time while your new sink and tap are being installed, this means toilets, showers and basins won’t be able to be used during this period, Please ensure there is access to the hot water tank (immersion) and is cleared of all towels etc and not hindering access to the shut-off valve, we ask that you show our installers where these are located in the house, these shut off valves tend to be seized over the years of not being used, Our installers will inform you if any issues that may arise during water isolation. We may need to access the street footpath shut-off valve if these are seized. (If your worktop is not getting changed, please disregard this). Our installers will need to set up a cutting station outside the property approximately 4 mtr x 4mtr. Which is closest to the work area. Please leave the space clear for this. They will need access to power in the house to connect power tools, please ensure that there are sockets available for them to plug into. We will not carry out gas works or connection of electrical hobs and ovens unless stated in the quotation. For worktop replacements the gas hob will need to be disconnected by an (RGI APPROVED INSTALLER) before work begins and reconnected when work is completed, sometimes they may be on a flexible hose and will need to be checked by (RGI APPROVED INSTALLER) after installation of the worktops. For a new Kitchen, all existing appliances must be disconnected and removed from your Kitchen before work begins. Our installers will not remove your existing Kitchen unless included in the quotation. The cost excludes all first and second-fix plumbing unless specifically mentioned in our quotation/order acknowledgement. Our fitting cost will include the fitting of all appliances supplied by Kitchen Fix, but not connections unless stated on order acknowledgement.

 • QUARTZ WORKTOPS

The current lead time for installation of Quartz countertops is 5-10 working days after templating. (Templating of countertops takes place after the Kitchen work is completed) we will fit a temporary sink during this period. i) All appliances which are to be fitted in or require a cut-out in the worktops must be on site. This includes but is not limited to sinks, hobs, pop-up sockets & taps. Any appliance which our surveyors took back with them will be returned to the site. Any hobs, pop-up sockets or wall-mounted sockets (in cases of full wall cladding) should be disconnected and made safe by a qualified professional. If our installers arrive on site and any of the above are still connected and/or not made safe and cause obstruction to the worktops being fitted, then the installation may not take place. Wall finishes and decorating (For Installation Quartz) Plastering which has taken place after templating can result in worktops not fitting correctly. If this has occurred, you must notify the office immediately as a new template may be needed. If our installers arrive on site and plastering has taken place after the survey, then fitting may not take place due to the stone not fitting correctly. Fitting of glass, steel or tile backsplashes or any painting and decorating work should be carried out after installation of worktops. Due to the heavy nature of the stone, we will not take responsibility for any marks or damage done to painted & finished walls.
